For example, if the current closing price of Bitcoin is $30,000, the lowest low of the last 14 days is $25,000, and the highest high is $35,000:

%K = (($30,000 - $25,000) / ($35,000 - $25,000)) * 100 = 50

Then, %D would be the 3-day average of the %K values for the last three days.

Interpreting the Stochastic Oscillator

  • **Overbought and Oversold Levels:**
   *   **Overbought (above 80):**  When both %K and %D lines are above 80, the cryptocurrency is considered overbought. This suggests the price might be due for a correction (a price decrease).
